Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists Celebrates AFL 50th
The Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists (TAFLS) has been a cornerstone of excellence and professionalism in family law since its inception, shortly after the establishment of board certification in Texas. Comprised of family law-certified lawyers and paralegals, TAFLS plays a crucial role in promoting certification and enhancing professionalism within the legal community. The Family Law Section is proud to work with TAFLS in promoting board certification.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Advanced Family Law (AFL) course, a milestone that offers us the perfect opportunity to reflect on its origins and impact. To commemorate this significant occasion, TAFLS conducted interviews with some of the pioneers who helped shape the AFL course. These interviews reveal fascinating insights into the creation of the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program, which was originally designed to help lawyers prepare for the very first certification exams.
